| Residential for Men Provides intensive intervention in a residential setting to promote sobriety and prevent relapse for men dealing with issues of substance abuse. Majority of clients are adult males who participate in a 45 to 90 day program, which includes: intensive substance abuse and mental health treatment in individual and group settings, didactic sessions, recreation, random drug screening, and on site AA & NA meetings. Referrals are made by the City of Detroit Health Department, Bureau of Substance Abuse. Residential for Women and Children Provides intensive intervention in a residential setting to promote sobriety and prevent relapse for women dealing with issues of substance abuse. Female clients also participates in a 45 to 90 day program, which includes: gender specific substance abuse treatment, therapeutic interventions addressing issues of relationship; sexual and physical abuse; and parenting, "Seeking Safety" program developed by Harvard Medical School and McLean Hospital to treat substance abuses and trauma issues concurrently, prenatal care referrals, and child development daycare, which includes transportation; meals; after school program and summer camp. Referrals are made by the City of Detroit Health Department, Bureau of Substance Abuse. Wayne County Family, Children and Adult Services Referrals are made to this minimum 90 day residential treatment from Wayne County Jail Based Diversion program. Services include: initial assessment to determine level/intensity of services needed using Northpointe Correctional Offender Management Profiling for Alternative Sanction, which incorporates the latest research, criminological factors and advanced statistical methods for optimal community based offender management. Intense cognitive behavior therapy to modify existing disorders and behavior by addressing dysfunctional or distorted cognitive processes. Female Day Reporting Program This program provides a non-violent female probation offender outpatient services. These services include individual and group counseling sessions focusing on employment, vocational, education training, cognitve skills training, substance abuse treatment, anger management, psychological and medical needs and family issues. The goal of this program will enable clients to acquire the skills, attitudes, and behaviors necessary to cope with daily life situations without using drugs, or committing crimes. This will help clients begin the lifelong process of recovery from addition and the modeling of non-criminal behaviors in order to decrease recidivism, and reduce probation violation rates. Hours of service are Monday through Friday from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm. MDOC Community Based Outpatient Substance Abuse Treatment Services Parolees under the supervision of the Michigan Department of Corrections are referred into treatment to address chemical dependency problems. The goal of the program is to increase the knowledge of substance abuse and develop relapse prevention strategies that will reduce recidivism. Individual and group counseling are services provided utilizing cognitive behavioral and social learning approaches. Hours of services are Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 9:00 pm. Federal Pretrial Outpatient Mental Health Services Referrals are made through the Federal pretrial Unit from courts and judges; allows individuals charged with a federal offense to stay in the community until their court date. Services includes: outpatient substance abuse and mental health services, case management, and on site housing for homeless individuals. Transitional Housing This is a temporary residency for men for up to 24 months while preparing them for independent living. Men in this program must be committed to being drug free. Supportive services include: case management, individual/group substance abuse treatment, job training and employment referrals, and housing referrals. Clients are referred from various sources, including churches, treatment programs, emergency shelters, and walk-in homeless. This program is funded by the City of Detroit. Emergency Services This programs operates year round from 7 p.m. until 7 a.m. daily offering meals, a hot shower, bedding for the night and breakfast for 100-150 men. This program is funded by the State of Michigan with the Salvation Army as fiduciary. The Warming Center This program is a collaborative with the City of Detroit and operates between November - March of each year to serve the homeless seeking shelter during the winter months. This program offers meals, shower, and overnight shelter. Adult Education This program offers free adult education classes that are open to the community. Classes include: general education diploma preparation and adult basic education, job placement assistance for GED graduates, hands on computer training and computer assisted learning tools, and Alcoholics Anonymous & Narcotics Anonymous meetings. Value Added Services Step Down The Step Down program offers wrap around support for motivated clients to ensure a successful transition from residential treatment to integration with their families and the community. The program includes: "Thinking for a Change" aftercare groups; "Strengthening Families" family therapy to prevent substance abuse in children of dru/alcohol stressed families; Transitional housing assistance, job search/placement services, field trips to widen exposure to enrichment experiences, guest speakers and didactic presentations, participation in community service events, and Recreational activities in a full size gymnasium. |
